The SIMS TeleLogik system will take over mundane tasks that are normally handled by central station operator personnel.
Main capabilities currently supported are:
Central Station Dealer and/or Subscriber Access which allows a caller to command the system to perform dealer and/or subscriber related actions such as placement on test.
Reports On Demand which allows a caller (either a dealer or subscriber) to request a report be generated and transmitted back to the caller.
Report Transmission when a report on demand is requested by 1) fax or 2) email.
Additionally, capabilities for CSP [Continuous Speech Processing], TTS [Text-To-Speech: Method that allows text to by synthesized as human speech.] and ASR [A set of algorithms that processes speech utterances.] will be tentatively scheduled for release in the summer of 2008. This capability will be used in conjunction with real time event processing. For example, typically after an operator makes the decision of whether an event is worthy of Police, Fire or Medical Dispatch their efforts must then be turned to calling subscriber contacts to notify and/or request attendance and inspection. This job can be tedious and in many accounts may require that dozens of numbers be called in an effort to find a willing party to attend. The Alarm Processing Speech capabilities will provide the following advantages:
Can relieve operators of mundane tasks that can be responsible for a large percentage of total operator time expended on any given event.
Can handle notifications of troubles, supervisory and non-critical notification.
Can read the SIMS database and create the necessary words to provide speech notification on events.
The capabilities of the product will allow quicker and more efficient contact with customers.
Automatic handling of follow-up contacts creates a substantial reduction in operator time resulting in a lowering of operator labor costs.
Addresses happiness of operators.
Operation - When an operator pulls down a dispatch mask from the Traffic Display, the cursor should be moved to the Contact that the operator wants the Alarm Processing to start with. A hot key may then be used to exit the dispatch mask and start the sequencing of the Alarm Processing Workstation. While the Alarm Processing has multiple lines only one call is made at a time for any one event, but multiple events from different Subscribers can be processed simultaneously. This functionality takes advantage of Continuous Speech Recognition and Text to Speech Processing and is available in 4, 8 or 23 Channel Versions.
